The available gear ratios are 5.4:1, 6.5:1, 7.2:1, and a high-speed 9.1:1.

Significant upgrades have been made to the original MegaJaws baitcaster. The AutoMag dual braking system provides more stable and longer-distance casting. The one-piece ring magnet on the MegaJaws baitcasting reels provides uniform braking force during the entire cast. When the spool reaches peak speed, the auto-adjusting braking bars are thrown out, reducing the spool speed and avoiding backlash. When the spool speed is reduced to a critical point, the bars retract, eliminating the braking force and giving you longer, trouble-free casts.

The MegaJaws reels have helped Pro Angler Rob Branagh win the opening event of MLF 2022 at Lake Okeechobee, proving their tournament-ready capabilities. These reels are equipped with 11+1 double-shielded stainless steel bearings and a stainless steel main shaft, offering durability and performance for both freshwater and saltwater fishing. The unique KastKing Low Friction Tapered Vortex (LFTV) line guides on the MegaJaws baitcasters greatly reduce fishing line friction, enabling super-long casts and minimizing backlashes. The 6061 aluminum alloy star drag accurately sets the carbon fiber drag discs and is easy to adjust. The special KastKing MegaJaws embossed EVA handle knobs provide excellent grip, even in wet conditions.
